comment What IDEs are available for Ubuntu?
@haziz All editor has advantages and disadvantages. The issues you have written is a consequence of that Vim is a modal editor: it has several modes. The modality makes is possible to do complex things without difficult (e.g. Ctrl+Shift+something) key combinations. Emacs and Vim both are good editors. I use Vim almost every day, and I like it more and more.

comment Software Sources not found in Unity Dash Search
I updated from 11.10 to 12.04 too. I tried the workflow above. There was not NoDisplay row in the software-properties-gtk.desktop file (I edited the original one). I insert it to the end with the value False. I started Ubuntu again. There is not any result.

comment VIM does not detect syntax of .ssh/config
I have opened the Vim with the not existing file ~/.ssh/config and the filetype was sshconfig. I have complex settings for vim: github.com/horvatha/vimrc I tried it on 11.10. The .vimrc with just the row "filetype plugin on" is not enough: it does not set the filetype for that file.

comment How can I extract audio from MP4 or FLV video files?
Sorry. I have not thought that it seems from my comment, that everything is bad in your description. I was just happy to realize, that with that package it is so easy from the command line. I will moderate myself.

comment How can I extract audio from MP4 or FLV video files?
I think in the command line the libavcodec-extra-53 package is important. Before I installed it, I do not succeded to convert to mp3.

I tried this on Ubuntu 11.10 from gnome-terminal and terminator and the output of the xdg-mime was that was written here, but the xdg-open showed the pdf file in nautilus (with setting evince or AdobeReader as well).
