Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on machine with Windows XP. How to have a real UNIX-Ubuntu, not just Ubuntu-GUI over Windows? No one has said that the Windows installer provides an "Ubuntu-GUI over Windows". You'll get a real installation, and will even have to reboot to use it. |

Serious lag problem with Ubuntu 13.04 Can you add the hardware specs to the question. 13.04 requires a relatively modern graphics card to run well, otherwise, it will be slow, but then, you could Xubuntu or Lubuntu instead. |

How to Correct My Kernel Version? Just remove the kernel packages you've installed manually. If not sure what to remove, please add the output of dpkg -l | grep -e linux-image -e linux-headers to the question. |
