I got the ttys back up now. All of them give codes. None of them work after switching back to the desktop, however. I think they need to be remapped. Do you know how to rempap the keys? I don't remember. If you can give a straight forward method, and it works, I'll accept this as the answer.

@Wilf be that as it may, I've never run into any trouble with that site. Plus, if you're going to use Windows software, you should be prepared for the insecurities.

Next time please check which variant of Ubuntu you are referring to. Ubuntu Gnome is what you're using in this case, but initially I thought you had Ubuntu proper.
