comment Snappy Ubuntu, how does it relate to Nix and Guix?
Snappy does not statically compile in libraries. It allows you to store libraries in the same folder as your binary so that you don't have to depend on system libraries, but it also allows you to rely on system libraries if you don't need a release independent package. So Snappy doesn't remove the benefits of having a stable LTS release. It just makes everything a lot simpler.

comment can't run executables “.x86” on ubuntu 14.04
@Swagmaster: That error means the file doesn't exist. You have to use the right filename, and it is case sensitive. You can't write "Home" if it's called "home". Enter the first letters and press tab, the system will autocomplete the filename for you.

comment sharing internet between network interfaces
@rubo77: I don't think that should be a problem. It uses a router and a dhcp server, pretty much like your wireless router at home.

comment ubuntu 14.04 package install fail (apt-get install error)
The install script for SQL Alchemy is trying to configure a database for you, adding tables to hold data. However, those tables already exists in the database. So you can probably just drop the "instances" table, if you don't have anything important in it.

comment Ubuntu Software Centre can't connect to the internet. 13.04
Ubuntu 13.04 was a short-term release that's no longer supported. You should upgrade to 14.04LTS, which will be supported until April 2019. Non-LTS versions are only supported for 9 months. Ubuntu 13.04 has not received any security updates since January 2014.

comment Ubuntu 14.04 deleted www directory from /var/www and need to restore it
Well, if he wants to reproduce the original layout, I think it should include /var/www/html. Not a big deal by any means, I just thought I'd mention it.

comment Allow sudo in default guest account
@GunnarHjalmarsson: Thanks. Yes, what I'm thinking, is that it might be possible to simply add a --reflink=auto to the skel-part of /usr/sbin/guest-account. Then, if you're using btrfs, you'll just get a CoW-ed copy of /etc/guest-session/skel. So in this case, you'd get a clean PlayOnLinux environment at each login. Should actually be even faster than it is today because of --reflink. But I want to test it before I recommend it. It's also possible that it might be better to use an overlayfs because that wouldn't require btrfs. But I'm not that familiar with overlayfs yet.
