Yes, that doesn't sound good. I'll have to stick to what I have. Thank you.

comment Set Nautilus as default file manager in Xubuntu
The only problem with this is that thunar still loads at startup, I'll make a startup script to correct for that, since thunar shuts down when nautilus starts.

comment How to stop the Unity Desktop
I wish you good luck, and shutting down GUI might help, but if your calculation for example needs 5Gb of RAM, you might think about refining the algorithm you're using for solving the problem, or using a machine with more ram, swap is a calculation killer, you might wait for days and your computer will be unusable in the process. In the end the problem might consume even swap and then you're at the square 1 with lot of time lost.

comment Add second processor to Virtualbox virtualized 32bit Ubuntu
/sys/devices/system/cpu there is a online offline file here, not in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0, I'll try modifying that file today, after all users have disconnected from my virtual machine and will state results.

of course :) But it's simply not there, online file/directory doesn't exist.

Unfortunatly this doesn't work. I have Virtualbox additions installed and this trick with echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpuid... there is no such directory on my virtual ubuntu.
