I'm seeing this on Rackspace servers over IPv6 with lines like: Got a single header line over 360 chars [IP: ::ffff:67.215.65.132 80]. No solution found yet...

Ran into this issue on a system that had been originally installed using the xfce-based mythbuntu distro CD. Uninstalling the xfce related packages worked. If it still doesn't work, try manually setting the default browser

Yeah, dependencies are definitely a pain point for backporting ;-) I agree, the accepted answer should suffice in most cases, and for users of bazaar source control repos, using Launchpad's bzr-builder recipe looks attractive too. However, when it comes down to packages with many dependencies, sometimes you have to build a custom package for your target distro.
