I started in linux world through a Brazilian linux distro called Linux Kurumin was a distro based on Knnopix and facing novice users. Kurumin is sadly discontinued, so when I got to college I met the Debian and CentOS distros, I have not used Linux as my main system but out of curiosity I thought ubuntu, and since then I only use linux and ubuntu as my main distro and Slackware as secondary. I'm not an expert in the terminal but I'm doing fine with Slack. And I also learned a very important thing, do not judge the preferences of other users, everyone chooses the distro you prefer. For me Ubuntu is one of the best because it has the largest community in my opinion!
