comment Ubuntu boots to black screen after messing with Nvidia
@aiao Thanks for the help, but there was no change. I did notice that when I boot into safe graphics mode it says: xinit: unable to run server "/usr/bin/X": No such file or directory. Use the -- option, or make sure that /usr/bin is in your path and that "/usr/bin/X" is a program or a link to the right type of server for your display. And then it lists a bunch of possible server names. I don't know if this helps at all.

Also, I'm very sorry the previous post has no line breaks. I'm new and I could not find out for the life of me how to add them.

@aiao I tried the unity reset. This is what it gave me: 'WARNING: no DISPLAY variable set, setting it to :0 (process:2253): GConf-WARNING **: Client failed to connect to the D-BUS daemon://bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally with the following error: Autolaunch error: X11 initialization failed. WARNING: environment is incorrect:No D-BUS daemon running Did you just try to reset in a tty? unity-panel-service: no process found compiz (core) - Fatal:Couldn't open display :0 Then it ends. There is no change when it boots.'

I did it all, but I'm still having the same problem. I didn't see any errors, so I think the commands ran fine.
