Boinc not working I've found that most projects do not work at all, exiting with computation errors, but on my 12.04 system, the following projects are working: AlmereGrid, Correlizer, Leiden Classical, NFS@home, NRG, and SubsetSum@home. You might consider trying one or more of these until SETI@home works again. |

Firefox consumes too much memory You can also open about:memory?verbose in your Firefox address bar to see a detailed tree list of where your memory is being used... I'm not sure if this will help, but you might find that some sites aren't as light as they seem. |

I can not install or find downloads on my laptop @user49523 Why would you tell her to reinstall her OS? She just needs to learn how to use it... I don't think Synaptic is installed by default, and it's probably too complicated for a brand new Ubuntu user at any rate. |

I can not install or find downloads on my laptop Installing software on Ubuntu is a little different than what you might be used to if you're a Windows user. Your best bet for installing things is to use the Ubuntu Software Centre. |

Dash application icons not in alphabetical order Thanks for taking the time to reply. I guess my question wasn't specific enough. My Installed icons are the ones that are out of order. |
