Why does installing gnome shell extensions from extensions.gnome.org fail silently? Thanks for this advice. Running gnome-shell --replace issues with the following errors (see next comments). Then, installing extensions still fails silently (no more errors in console). |

Why does installing gnome shell extensions from extensions.gnome.org fail silently? No. But before 12.04 installation, with previous Ubuntu version, I could get extensions to install normally even through this same proxy. |

Why does installing gnome shell extensions from extensions.gnome.org fail silently? I've tried with Chromium and FF with the same negative result. Copying extensions from my home computer to ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions did the job. But this is just a workaround. Perhaps, extensions.gnome.org fails because my professional computer is connected via a proxy ? |

Why does installing gnome shell extensions from extensions.gnome.org fail silently? I don't think so. I use gnome-shell v3.4.1 and Gnome 3D. |

How can I prevent a mount from being displayed as a removable media? I've tried to mount /home/auser/nfs_share using autofs, but it still appears as a removable media :-( |

mounting through /etc/fstab without writing in /etc/mtab I want to bind /mnt/afolder to /home/myuser/afolder. I can achieve this with : mount -n --bind /mnt/afolder /home/myuser/afolder but it isn't permanent. With -n option, the mounted filesystem doesn't appears in Nautilus. |

Boot freeze with Logitech Unifying Receiver Solved ! You were right. Changing USB port on the same hub didn't solve freezing, but changing to the front panel USB port works. |
