comment Application windows becomes unresponsive for some time in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
I was experiencing alike I/O issue on another hardware with 12.04, and that was really swapping issue. I can't remember I was able to move mouse pointer when that was happeing but now when current problem is reproduced it is possible.

I'm unable to work with applications because as I mentioned all application windows are frozen. I also tried CTRL+ALT+F6 combination when that happened again to enter text mode but no luck, screen picture doesn't change.

Hello Jan, no I don't think it is possible. I think it is graphics issue. As I said mouse pointer is alive. And that is why I mentioned "application windows" instead of "system" in subject. Also I have hdd load indicator.

comment How to stop reordering of the same kind multiple preview windows in task switching?
Very annoying feature. I asked the same question here askubuntu.com/questions/271506/… but unfortunately still no answer.

comment How do I make changes to /proc/acpi/wakeup permanent?
I modified your script to disable wakeup on LID open (really stupid and annoying feature from my point of view). Thank you!

comment Wake laptop when lid is opened?
My /proc/acpi/wakeup didn't contain LID but LID0 instead. Thus echo "LID0" > /proc/acpi/wakeup did the trick. Thank you!
