comment Razer BlackWidow - Ubuntu not Recognizing Audio jacks
That's cause the connectors are passive. It should be the same as plugging in a pair of headphones or a speaker. If your audio out is broken, how do you expect it to work?

comment Razer BlackWidow - Ubuntu not Recognizing Audio jacks
To be honest, this is a result of a misunderstanding of what the additional ports on the BW do. All they did was essentially add in passive audio and USB extenders to the keyboard so you don't need to reach over to the back, or to the top to get access to a USB or audio port. Your keyboard ports won't work if the ports they are plugged into don't work. Tho... a fancy keyboard with a good built in soundcard sounds cool, if super super niche.

comment What does this 'apt-get remove' instruction do?
"I found it on internet so I copied it and pasted it into terminal" NO NO NO NO NO. You'll end up doing horrible things by accident. Running code you don't understand results in terrible things like nuking your system, and puppies being kicked.

comment I want to move /run/shm to my /home directory
That's a REALLY wierd partition layout, and fairly badly planned. There's little reason to split off non critical OS stuff (or for that matter anything but /home and maybe /etc). IMO splitting up a system into different mountpoints is really a relic of tiny old drives.

I'd also add your question is cut off, and AU's essentially community support, rather than something owned/run by canonical proper.

comment How do I increase the total size of my storage devices?
It makes sense to reuse as much as they can. That however doesn't include the storage. They use (roughly) the same boards and controllers, storage chips or hard drives of the correct size, and if needed, firmware specific to the parts they chose to use.
