comment Super Key doesn't work on Kubuntu 12.04
(in Ubuntu 12.04) You need to tap 'fast enough' in order to get dash, since if your tap is too slow nothing happens. (and if it's slow enough, you see the shortcut thing)

comment Can't install ATI proprietary drivers in 12.10
@Jean-Louis nomodeset, not monodeset. Sadly, I've tried this advice but even with nomodeset my unity is gone and my terminal doesn't work. Messed up.

comment Kernel requires an x86-64 CPU, but only detected an i686 CPU. How can I install Lubuntu/Ubuntu?
If you have no virtualization option in bios, probably your hardware doesn't support it. sevenforums.com/virtualization/…

comment Ubuntu 13 and Windows 7 are not friends
Here's how I did it: I removed HP recovery partition by going to Start Menu(search)->HP Recovery Manager->Remove Recovery Partition. Then, I just restarted my computer onto my USB flash drive (which has the Ubuntu booter thing), and I had the option to install Ubuntu alongside my other operating system(windows 7). But I'm having problems too

I have the exact same situation (downloaded Ubuntu 13.04 64. I wanted to install it to dual boot with windows 7 64 bit) and I had the Hp tools and recovery taking up all 4 portions problem. However, I only removed HP recovery. Maybe (just maybe!) removing HP tools caused your problem. I'm just speculating.
