comment How to migrate user settings and data to new machine?
Sure it's not a bad thing, but if you want to copy your system to another pc or replicate it for another pc you probably don't want a eth2 just because eth0 and eth1 has been used by the source system of which you don't care anymore.

Thanks for the summary. I would love it if you could add the removal of /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules which is a autogenerated file by udev, it is used to guarantee that new network devices don't get the same name as previously installed.

comment Increase mouse wheel scroll speed
You're welcome. Yesterday I checked your problem, if you only need the increased wheelspeed on your pdf viewer you can replace the ".*" by "Evince" if you're using Evince. Then the Unity-Launcher works as expected.

comment Why does this APT package have a four-part version number, with a dash?
Is have a four part number! But the fourth is a sub-version that is not always mentioned. But as you can see in uname -r that the sub-version is present on your system, not only in the apt-package.

comment How to open a Ruby file in terminal?
The file isn't executable. Try chmod +x ./Desktop/test.rb and after that try to execute the file again. If you want to know more try man chmod (can be closed by tipping 'q')
