Pidgin messages remain in messaging menu/indicator even after read Found this very similar bug which claims to be fixed already, perhaps a regression: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pidgin-libnotify/+bug/1113721 |

WiFi stops working after waking from suspend with a Broadcom 43225 +100 In my case the module is iwlagn, but when I discovered this fix I created a bash alias and now it hardly even bothers me: alias riwl="sudo rmmod iwlagn; sudo modprobe iwlagn";. Haven't found that restarting network manager is necessary. |

Can I recover from corrupted debconf in place? Thanks for the cheery answer. :) I use this box purely as a media server with all the actual media files on a separate, external USB drive. As such, I'm not particularly worried about future disk failures, there's nothing important for me to lose. I was more just curious about the general recovery options in a scenario where most things work but certain key files are missing (for whatever reason), causing simple solutions like upgrading or reinstalling packages to fail. |
