comment Can I create a LiveUSB from Ubuntu 12.04 without having the original ISO file?
You can order the LiveCD and create the bootable USB from the CD. Technically, you would not have downloaded the ISO. But is that really answering your question?

No need to apologise. I will survive even if you don't accept. I just mentioned it for the site's sake. Any answer you prefer will do: askubuntu.com/faq#howtoask

I learned by looking through options and playing around. If you type "hindi" in the search field of this site, you will find answers like this one: askubuntu.com/questions/15648/how-to-type-hindi-in-open-office. About the virāma (not vihāra, sorry) and other aspects of the script, see: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devanagari and omniglot.com/writing/devanagari.htm

PS: I recommend the Bolnagri Layout because it matches the phonetic equivalent (except for retroflex ट, ठ, ड, ढ). Use the x-key to make compounds with the vihara (क + ् + ष = क्ष)

comment How to make Firefox load thumbnails in the New Tab page?
Hi Roland, thanks. Pinning the tiles does not seem to force the thumbnail to load either.

This question and its answer is useful, I disagree with the decision to close it.

comment Are you meant to be able to search for files from the Kickoff Launcher in KDE?
Your questions seems to ask for some opinion. The answer provided by user26687 seems clear: Krunner and Kickoff let you search for files and applications. Kickoff has a menu which allows you to search for files without search-typing while KRunner will require the user to type-search in order to get a list of items. Try to be more explicit about which behaviour you expect and which behaviour your observe and people will let you know to what extent it is possible to bridge the gap between the two.
