i cant find any output in dmesg about the drives.. mountall returns an error, and the mountall.conf does have that line.

i was not using the UUID, i was using the /dev/sda5 as i mentioned in my question. that wouldnt affect me?

@Jeremy: because in htop, system moniter, and just about every other system info program, it says that i have 0/0 bytes of swap available.
