comment How to I stop ubuntu making .Trash folder in each device
Another scenario is when sharing folders in a VM. Ubuntu 13.04 in a VM sees my Windows host folder as a device and creates ".Trash-1000" in it (the shared folder is writeable for my workflow, so making it read only is not a solution). I used to be able to share a folder without it appearing in devices, but can't remember how this worked.

@Nick Judging by the latest comments in the bug report this doesn't seem to be the case.

comment Can I sync with my iOS4 device such as iPhone 4 and iPad?
Yep that's one workaround at the last resort. There are many apps on iOS that allow to connect from a computer and transmit files. One I have is called "Stash" (it also lets you put a password and multiple users/collections). I guess the trick then is to use one of those apps that has "Open in..." options. Then you could use "Open in iBooks" to get your PDF files there. I don't know if you can use "Open in" to transfer music and video to the native iOS apps though :/

revised How do I install and run Lord of the Rings Online on a 64-bit Ubuntu system?
Question is a bit broad (in regard to Wine etc), but OP said 64-bit and there is a very specific issue with 64-bit that made all the adivce online completely ineffective for me. I posted a solution. It is not a Wine problem.

If someone knows how to apply the .patch file feel free to edit and simplify the answer. The .patch file is downloaded from chakra-linux.org/ccr/…

comment How to create website shortcuts on the desktop / in a folder using Chrome?
Awesome. Dragging the favicon to the desktop doesn't work for me in Ubuntu 13.04, but thanks to this answer I found out that dragging from the bookmarks bar does! So it's not ideal but CTRL+D, dragging and then deleting the bookmark from bookmarks bar... I can live with.

comment Is there a Pomodoro app available?
Thanks jokerdino. Do you think it's possible to run it in raring? If it's python it doesn't need to be compiled right? I tried apt-get but there doesn't seem to be a "raring" release.
