comment How to determine whether a process is running or not and make use it to make a conditional shell script?
@DreadPirateShawn can you tell me why use /dev/null and not simply a 0? Using the number makes the code way more readable, at least for a noob (such as me). No redirect, no nothing

Have you checked additional drivers for a 3rd party proprietary driver for your wifi? It's in Settings.

comment Installing Google Chrome in Ubuntu 13.10 Error [How-To]
NGRhodes, i might have forgotten that this question is about the 64bit version. I'm running Ubuntu on 32 bit. I tried to install libxss1 but it said it's already installed.

@lilicus I think that's because you have libxss1 installed

comment Installing Google Chrome in Ubuntu 13.10 Error [How-To]
That didn't do the thing for me. I had it already installed (no idea why) but chrome still won't install. I'm defaulting to chromium until this problem is resolved.

comment Internet problem in Ubuntu 13.04
to check if DNS is the problem, go to the console (CTRL+ALT+T) and do a ping 8.8.8.8 (the IP is one of Google's open DNS servers)
