comment How can I get multiple workspaces in Kubuntu 13.10?
I'm annoyed too. It was the KDE default for ages to have multiple workspaces in and a switcher in the panel. Now you have to excavate some settings deeply buried in the configurations, in two different places (activate workspaces & configure panel).

Thanks for this answer. I will check if parted is available from the Server installer text console.

comment Create GUID partition table (GPT) during Ubuntu Server install
@Fabby: Right, I gave a "yes or no" question, and that is basically what I wanted as an answer: Either "no" or "yes" + how. I wrote twice that this question is explicitely about the standard Ubuntu Server installer, so I think it's only fair to expect that this point isn't completely ignored.

comment Why do weird printers show up in the Ubuntu printing dialog?
I can confirm this problem. If you are on a network with self-announcing printers, on 14.04, (some of?) those printers show automatically up in the print dialog (at least of Xubuntu and Kubuntu). Stopping cups-browsed prevents cups from adding those printers, but still, they show up in the print dialog. So yes, this is not a cups problem. The problem is resolved by stopping avahi-deamon, which is not optimal. We need a solution which keeps avahi-deamon alive, but stops the print dialog from displaying those printers.

Unfortunately, this didn't stop remote printers from being added for me.

comment Unattended-upgrades mail only on error or reboot?
When posting this answer, I had applied the same to a server with unattended updates. In the last unatteded update, linux-image-3.13.0-39-generic was installed. And I got the first reboot-required message, so it works!

comment Unattended-upgrades mail only on error or reboot?
Good question. I have a server with unnattended-upgrades and MailOnlyOnError and my impression is that unfortunately I don't get any info mails if a reboot is required. Would be nice to know if there is an "official" way to make this work.

comment How to customize unattended-upgrades notification emails?
In 14.04 LTS, the line Unattended-Upgrade::MailOnlyOnError "true"; is back in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades. It's commented out by default.

comment How do I install Adobe Acrobat Reader from the repository?
Thanks for those instructions, worked fine. However, for opening a file with online functionality, additionally I had to install sudo apt-get install libpangoxft-1.0.0:i386 libpangox-1.0.0:i386 libidn11:i386.

@MichaelButler: 0 means true. I've added a clarification.
