@gertvdijk, this is correct but not possible in some situations. i.e. when the package in the repo is too old or not given and in this case the quickstart guide suggest to compile the program manualy.

If fdisk hangs and mount /dev/sde1 doesent work too, it sounds like the SD Card/the partition/the data on the SD Card is broken.

Take a look at sudo fdisk -l and identify your SD Card. You need the drve and the number of the partition. Then you can mount it by tying sudo mount /dev/sdx1 /media/SD. /media/SD must exist!

Maybe your Router can block gmail (the Website, not the mails) but I think the best way is to secure your PC with a password and lock the desktop when you're not at the pc.
