comment How do I disable mouse magnet on middle edge with multi monitors?
Thank you. This thing was driving me insane. Why would anyone invent such a horrible feature?!

comment Disable unity sidebar but still use dash with superkey
Unfortunately, with dual-monitors, Unity still renders a "sticky" monitor border to catch the sidebar activitation, even if it's set to nothing. This makes using Unity with dual monitors really annoying because your mouse will get "stuck" on the monitor edges.

comment Disable unity sidebar but still use dash with superkey
This is the exact opposite of why the OP asked for. This disables superkey but keeps the horrible sidebar.

comment Disable unity sidebar but still use dash with superkey
There doesn't seem to be an "experimental" tab in 14.04.

@Wilf, Also, I've updated my question with a list of my graphics packages.

comment Unable to login to Gnome-Shell in Ubuntu 14.04
@Wilf, Neither a new user nor guest can login to gnome-shell either. Unfortunately, I don't remember what packages were updated. I gave the list a quick glance, and none of them seemed critical, which is why I didn't bother remembering them. I would have taken note if the kernel or nvidia driver was being updated.

comment Autoconnecting Bluetooth Devices
Thanks, the first solution worked for me on Ubuntu 14.04. Although note, you still need to run sudo service pulseaudio restart or reboot to make the change take effect.

comment How can I restart pulseaudio without logout?
For me --check didn't show anything, even though -k stopped audio playback, implying pulseaudio was running.

comment Desktop never loads when using I Nvidia drivers
@Zacharee1, Thanks. Unfortunately, I figured it out myself before I saw your comment, but that sounds like a good suggestion. I had previously tried sudo dpkg-reconfigure xorg without success.

"error: crtc must be used after output" And even specifying the CRTC shows by xrandr, I still get the error "Configure crtc 0 failed"

comment NOUVEAU on 2013 15" macbook 14.04 crashes on resume
Same problem, except the Nvidia drivers don't work at all for me. All I get is a garbled screen.

comment Resume from suspend not working on Macbook Pro 5,5 with Nouveau
I just tried the Nvida 331 driver, and that made things even worse. That caused no desktop at all to show even after a reboot.

comment Unable to resume after suspend
Had a similar problem in 14.04 on a Macbook with the Nouveau driver, and unfortunately this did not work. This did let me get to a login screen, whereas before I only saw my desktop background, but once logged in, everything was frozen. Trying to kill/restart gnome-shell was unsuccessful.

comment How to get the hostname from a DHCP server
Although zeroconf is installed by default, it's horribly unreliable. I'm frankly surprised when it works, as pinging hostname or hostname.local rarely results in success even though nothing's changed on my network in months.

comment How do I enable Ubuntu (using full disk encryption) to call LUKSsupend before sleeping/suspending to RAM?
You said you've tried pm* scripts, but you haven't posted any examples, so I'm not sure what you've tried. Is it anything like this question? Why can't you call luksSuspend/Resume from /etc/pm/sleep.d/yourscript?
