comment What software should I install for opening .stl files?
That doesn't seem to work very well. And technically, that doesn't let you edit the STL file. It just converts the STL file to OpenSCAD's internal format using raytracing, which takes forever.

comment What software should I install for opening .stl files?
It might be a newer feature. The current version is 2014.03, but the version in the repo is 2013.02.28.

comment How to install arduino-1.0.3-linux32.tgz?
@Masroor, Sorry, I meant no offense, but the Op is clearly new, and accepted this answer because it was the only one. The correct solution is to copy or symlink the files to the appropriate directories.

comment How to install arduino-1.0.3-linux32.tgz?
Why was this upvoted? He's asking how to install it, not run it. Just running it from your home directory doesn't work as a lot of third party tools, like ino, expect it to be installed to a standard location like /usr/local/bin or /usr/bin or /usr/share/arduino, etc. Just extracting the tarball and running the binary is not "installing" it.

comment How to disable Macbook keyboard backlight
The later. The user can still change it, by either using the brightness keys (assuming the mapping is correct) or using the command above but changing the 0 to a value between [0:255].

comment Ubuntu gets stuck in a login loop
@TerryWang, Same here. I have no idea why though. I don't remember adding that line, so I don't know why it suddenly broke my entire Xorg session. Another reason to hate Ruby...
