comment USB mount nightmare on 12.04
So you're saying that if you boot with USB drives plugged in they mount on startup but then randomly unmount?

comment How the heck do I mount my Android phone?
WTF? That works. My head is going to explode. It never occurred to me that the cable might be the problem. Grrr. Anyway. If you want to make that an answer I'll accept it.

This is correct, but there are more complete instructions for cleanup at askubuntu.com/questions/2793/…

comment How to merge the cells in openoffice?
Note: someone suggested that you need to use =CONCATENATE(A1;B1) (with a ; semicolon instead of a , comma). If the above is returning errors, try switching your delimiter. I have vague recollections of getting in trouble with commas vs. semicolons switching between Calc and Excel a decade ago, but haven't run into that issue recently.

comment Unable to add Facebook account
"Something about a successful Facebook login" is pretty vague. Can you be (a whole lot) more specific about what you're trying to do? What are you trying to add your FB account to? Are you accessing it through a browser? Which browser?

comment Are there secret Banshee rewind and fast forward controls?
Sadly, I've tried most combinations of shift/alt/ctrl and the arrows. But I don't think you should remove the answer, it's a good starting place.

comment What's the “right way” to restart services in 11.10?
Also, since I sometimes struggle to sort out the right names of services, I use service --status-all -- [?] means the service status isn't known (the init file does not output a status); [+] service is running; [-] service is not running

Hah. Well ... you answered almost a year ago. I just noticed that I hadn't accepted an answer to this.

comment export & sync contacts Thunderbird?
Paulus, you're using a lot of shorthand here. Can you expand on your question so that folks can take a stab at answering it? You can already sync UbuntuOne contacts via Thunderbird's address book. Do you need help enabling that? Or are you looking for something else?

comment How do you open a command line?
Worth adding that Terminal is probably under Accessories in your Application menu (it is for me anyhow, but I gave Unity the boot. Maybe Unity doesn't have an Application menu). You can also try <kbd>alt</kbd> <kbd>f2</kbd> for a launcher widget where you can start to type "t-e-r-m-i..." and get a list of terminal applications available to you.

In 11.10 I can open and create CouchDB addressbooks in Evolution, so I can't test @Christopher Stansbury's fix. Accepting his answer b/c it helped Nick.
