You know what? I've quit writing software for the time being. At least professionally. Instead, I'm writing fiction.
So I'm no longer available for freelance work. But if you want to talk to me about indie publishing, feel free to give me a shout.
Old version of this:
I've been creating web apps since 1996. Along the way I've used .cgi scripts (Perl & Python), .idc/.htx, ASP, JSP, ColdFusion, .NET, and (for the last 3 years or so) Ruby on Rails. Mostly I deal with secure web apps and data transport issues.
I run a MicroISV. Scarecrow, my current product, does website availability/content monitoring, plus "in the cloud" backups/restores to & from Amazon S3. The app uses RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Rails, back-end Ruby processes, and Linux virtual machines in various locations around the U.S.
I also do freelance work on occasion--usually for people I've worked with before, but if you need some help, give me a shout. I may have time, or I may be able to find someone else to help you. I have a special interest in startups (I've worked for two in addition to my own Cabin Fever Software, and have twice worked for companies that told me they were spinning off a product).
