12.10 Won't Boot after Install Surely I'm not the only one having this problem! To me, it looks like the hand-off from the BIOS (Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4 -- current BIOS), to the boot-loader is failing. I don't get a grub menu, indeed, I don't get anything after the BIOS screen. I'm guessing that the boot-loader isn't where the BIOS expects, and I don't have anything after the HD in the boot sequence. |

12.10 Won't Boot after Install Thank you for the input; sorry I wasn't clear. There is no boot activity after the standard BIOS startup screen. The screen is black with a flashing cursor in the upper left corner. Nothing shows after the BIOS startup, no error messages, no Ubuntu purple screen, no opportunity to intercept the boot sequence... just nothing. |
