Are there any free/open source alternatives to Adobe After Effects? I have used After Effects. Nothing in Free Software even comes close. |

Why can't I copy a large number of files to my USB flash drive? Does it always fail on the same sector(s)? ie 1220096 - if so it's probably a problem with the drive. If not, it could be an electrical problem with the USB connectors/cabling - which incidentally might only show up when using high speed usb2 devices. |

Disable resize gripper in windows? Maybe because it draws over the top of the window contents in many applications and generally just looks annoying? |

How can I remove the Evolution package completely? It's a dependency of gnome-panel, which in turn is a dependency of quite a lot of gnome stuff. Removing it will remove half your desktop along with it. |

Do I need to re-purchase software in the Ubuntu Software Centre if I reinstall? You'll be prompted for your login details when you click it. |

How do I get an Enter USB TV Box TV tuner aka Gadmei UTV302 to work? Quite often you'll need to compile the modules direct from linuxtv.org, because many of them aren't in the mainline kernel yet... |

Difference between Wine and Mono You can also install Mono for Windows in Wine but according to the Wine FAQ it is less likely to work than the .NET runtime. There is no simple way to know if a .NET program uses native win32 calls since there are a bunch of different ways they can do it. Best thing to do is try Mono first, if it doesn't work, try Wine+.NET. |

How to build application without sudo privileges? Other users will be able to use programs installed like this if they supply the full path and the permissions are set appropriately; and it appears that the default umask allows this on my desktop install. |
