comment I tried to dual boot Ubuntu 12.04 with Windows 7 but it shows that “no operation systems are detected”?
Can you still boot Windows after performing the repartition? You might try restoring the Master Boot Record using the Windows installation media before trying to install Ubuntu again.

comment Why did this .tar.gz fail to install?
You don't have a C++ compiler installed. Install one with sudo apt-get install build-essential and run configure again.

comment How to add user from apache user group in linux
If it's the latter, you need to provide sudo access to the www-data user on a non-TTY login, which is very dangerous as it opens a security hole for an attacker to compromise your system remotely by exploiting a bug in your CGI code. However, the information to do it is here.

comment How to add user from apache user group in linux
Your question is ambiguously phrased. Do you mean adding a user with permission to access www-data's files, or (as I suspect), giving www-data the permission to create and add new users to the system (e.g. a web signup form that creates a system user and mailbox etc.)?

comment No longer a part of sudoers list after adding docker
Setting a root password is unnecessary and could be a security risk. If you are going to reboot using the recovery cd, you might as well just edit the group file and add yourself there, as per my answer.

comment Vim: Supertab not working
This question might be a better fit for Superuser.com as it's not specific to only Ubuntu.

comment SSH keys from USB Stick
Yes, it's possible. Bear in mind that PuTTY private key files (PPK) are in a different format to OpenSSH. They can contain the same key, but will need to be different files. Then just tell each machine to read from the USB key (using symlinks on Linux, and configuring Pageant on Windows appropriately). In fact, there's no need to use USB - if your key is passphrase protected, just copy it to each machine.

comment Reinstall Windows
Before reinstalling, you need to back up your data. Get another USB external drive and back up your data first. Then you can use your Windows installation media to reinstall (it will wipe away Ubuntu completely).

comment How to practice SSH with single Ubuntu system?
"Practice SSH" is a vague request. Do you mean practicing how to administrate an SSH server? You only need one Ubuntu PC for that - you can connect to it from any other computer with an SSH client (such as PuTTY for Windows). Do you mean practicing forwarding ports? Then you will want to use a remote server or run your own in a virtual machine.

comment Sudo does not recognize my password anymore
Are you the adminstrator for the remote server? It is possible that someone changed the PAM module sudo uses to authenticate its users, and that whatever that is set to is different to the system that passwd is using for authentication. You can use this when setting up different passwords for sudo and for shell login.

comment How can I play radio stream as my startup (login screen) sound?
You can probably do something using a pipe - have a program connect to the radio stream and output to a named pipe (instead of your audio device). Then connect to that named pipe with your audio player, or in this case, the start-up sound playing code.
