comment Ideal language & IDE for creating native desktop Ubuntu apps
@karel Yes, a vague question with even vague answers, and I'm not asking about anything "official" here, it is just set of basic requirements and a recommended place to start, and there are ton of great native apps made for Ubuntu (possibly with similar requirements) so I'm hoping to get good suggestion for the same.

comment How do I give Ubuntu 14.04 more space?
@Siem: Gparted is available by default in Live session once you have booted from Live USB or DVD. Just search for "Gparted" in Unity Dash.

@Siem: Yes you don't need a CD! that's understood, first guide involves removing swap partition, and that cannot be done while running Ubuntu since it is actively using the partition, you need to boot Ubuntu from LiveUSB or DVD and then use Gparted from there to perform any operations on partition.

If you're already on Ubuntu or have access to any Ubuntu system, hook your pen drive and open Disk Utility and see if your pen drive has any partitions set.
