Xmonad with Unity / HUD Perhaps we should make a feature request... |

Are there any tiling window managers compatible with Unity3D? The point for me is that I want to use HUD together with a good tiling window manager |

Comparison of backup tools Now metadata seems to be supported, see https://github.com/apenwarr/bup: 'bup save' and 'bup restore' have immature metadata support.
On the plus side, they actually do have support now, but it's new, and not remotely as well tested as tar/rsync/whatever's. If you'd like to help test, please do (see t/compare-trees for one comparison method). |

Using Unity with i3-wm This doesn't answer your question, but it seems to be possible to use unity2d (especially HUD) together with xmonad another tiling window manager: haskell.org/haskellwiki/Xmonad/Using_xmonad_in_Unity_2D |

Unity 2D for 12.10 Why can't you just purge unity3d from ubuntu 12.10 and install unity2d from http://packages.ubuntu.com/quantal/unity-2d via gdebi-gtk or dpkg. Another option would be to compile it from source. |
