Share printer to another computer (without CUPS) The problem is that the printer is a multifunction-printer. Therefore I would like if the Windows machine would see the printer as if it's plugged into the Windows machine's USB port. This way, I would be able to use the accompanying printer software natively, and be able to scan documents aswell. |

dell inspiron n4110 ubuntu system problems with wifi and USB connection Do you have any possibility to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable and do a software update to let Ubuntu search for drivers? |

ubuntu 12.10 wireless is not working wl is the official Broadcom driver. There are various options you can choose to apply on your system. Read the manual, and decide by yourself which method you want to apply. The method I suggested is the official Broadcom driver, but perhaps you'd be better off with an open source driver which (IMO) is easier to install. If you have any problems with that, we can take it from there. |

Cant boot any OS on my machine after 12.10 Install Attempt It might be that you are using an older motherboard that does not support USB booting, or that it does not recognize FAT32. I've had such cases where I needed to format my USB stick to FAT16, and then putting the LiveCD ISO onto the USB (without reformatting ofcourse). You could try replicating this. |

Cant boot any OS on my machine after 12.10 Install Attempt The blinking dash sounds like the system can't find the boot partition. You could use the Ubuntu LiveCD to go into the terminal and reinstall GRUB2 into the boot partition. |

Can Audio Recorder record in separate files (after silence) instead of using a single file? If you are familiar with (bash) scripting, you could create a script that starts the Sound Recorder with the setting to stop on silence. Start recording, and hopefully the program will report to the script when the recording has stopped, from there you have the possibility to close the program and restart the script thus creating a new file. This is not a solution but merely a work-around. |

ubuntu 12.10 wireless is not working That's because it is not a command itself; it's a package you must install. Follow the instructions on the manual I posted. The section that corresponds to your case is 3.1.2: 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) - 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) |

Can I run a 12.04 64-bit server with only 1GB RAM? I agree with you, Robie Basak. I run a 32-bit webserver with 512MB RAM. It works efficiently, but on the other hand, I don't have that much traffic on the server as it's mainly for private use. |
