comment django - how to change localhost from 127.0.0.1 to 127.0.0.1:8000? [Solved]
I don't think this is the right solution. You should be adding the port number to your runserver command and not in the database. If you do so in the database and replicate this on a live server, you are in trouble.

comment How I can install regex package for python 3.4 without errors?
There is a regex package as well that mostly difference by being non-greedy by default (if I recall correctly).

Just to be clear, you are not talking about the built-in regex (re) module, right?

comment How do I install Python Pandas?
Do note that numpy docs state that a pip installed numpy might be slower than one that was apt-get installed.

Can you revisit your layout George... that's the only thing keeping me from upvoting

comment “Foolproof”-ish Linux for total antigeeks
I don't see any reason for the downvotes. Close votes would be at place, after all this is asking about other distros. But given a good answer, I think neither downvote nor close vote are necessary.

comment Using Expect in Bash to set the inital “postgres” user password?
Great example of the way the tools we know affect the way we develop. Using expect here is just completely wrong (no offense intended of course).

comment How can I install the Faenza icons for Libreoffice on 14.04?
Have not used this icon set in a while. Maybe tiheum.deviantart.com/art/Faenza-Icons-173323228 is a good starting point? If not, the sifr icon set (other answer) might be an option.

Actually this messes up the dir structure because it will replace the slashes.

To be honest: the chance for me having dupes is small. For future purposes, though, I think a snippet should avoid dupes and should preserve as much info as possible

I think Rinz has a point. Maybe manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/oneiric/man1/rename.ul.1.html could come in handy?

comment Error installing Django
in python dev you always pin down your django version to a specific version, so easy_install (or better pip) is to be preferred over the repos

comment Django and Gunicorn: 403 Forbidden
I am not 100% sure, but I did run into a similar problem in the past. Essentially, that was because the wsgi service needed to be run on a reserved port and then be accessed through apache (which forwarded it to a non-reserved port). Not sure this is helpful. Just trying to think along.

comment How can I install and use powerline plugin?
@Andrew I am not sure I get your point. You mean you should not install both via Vundle and via pip? Because that is not what I am suggesting, right?

comment How can I install and use powerline plugin?
@DennisWilliamson To be honest, I would not know as I have not used powerline in those contexts. Because all the configuration is vim specific, I could imagine that this does not affect the other contexts at all.
