comment Random greyed unresponsive screen on netbook
I now have a shiny new Dell XPS 9333 laptop running Ubuntu 14.04 and this still happens - though far less often that with the Eee. Regardless of the state of my laptop, I assume someone knows what it is that this greying signifies - or which section of the OS is responsible.

comment How does the fglrx package's version relate to AMD's version numbers, like Catalyst 12.3?
It looks like that detail isn't added to those pages so often now. 13.4 from April 2013 seems like the last update (12.104).

comment Proper way to change terminal resolution in Ubuntu Server 13.04?
Even locally, this is great. Cut and paste - yes! And even freedom from random update black screen stuff like "vga=..." is deprecated.

Thanks. I've installed gkrellm and tried running 'top' constantly, then ALT-TAB-ing back to it when the greying appears. I still haven't caught it. I'm not even sure if I should be watching the %CPU; VIRT; or RES. Please let me know if there's anything else I can provide.
