How do I enable desktop visual effects? Is jockey-gtk the tool that the "HArdware Drivers" GUI uses? Or is it something seperate. |

Reducing audio delay from redirecting input to output Just for shits, you can try boosting that to nice -n 20.... Dunno if it would help though. |

What is the difference between upstream and downstream when referring to who to go to as a developer? Likewise, if you were to report a bug to an upstream app (like Firefox) that was caused by something in Ubuntu, not Firefox, they would refer you to report the bug downstream. |

Is possible to make symlinks that 'follow' the file? msw is right, for some reason not using -s with ln scared me for a while, I never thought it was appropriate to do. In reality, it's not an issue unless you have crazy partitioning schemes and move files across them alot. |

How to log out without having to confirm? Just to play devil's advocate, being a list of actions "log out, switch user, restart, etc" it's not very hard to miss and accidentally select the wrong item, especially with a trackpad. |

Wireless not working after installation It should be noted that you need to plug into a wired connection when you do this. I had a similar problem ona Levovo S10 and Hardware Drivers couldn't find any drivers for it. Then I plugged it into the network, ran the hardware drivers wizard, and it found the relevant drivers and installed them no problem. |
