comment udev rules to allow only one vendor and model USB drive but no others
@Sneetsher the second one, however even without the kernel and subsystem and driver arguments the system is still ignoring the "ignore_device" option regardless

comment How to install metasploit and armitage in Ubuntu?
Reinstall from scratch. The Kali repos are Debian and not Ubuntu and mixing repositories from multiple distros will usually always trash your system (unless you use apt pinning correctly)

comment my dell laptop inspiron 6000 wont go past the logo page
what do you mean by "logo page"? The manufacturer logo at BIOS or the Ubuntu logo which is the splash screen typically seen when Ubuntu is actually loading?

comment can't install cpan module Image::Magick
It's looking for imagemagick devel headers - did you verify you have those installed?

comment How to execute a sudo script with double click
I think you should add an extra security check - make sure the user running the script is the user who wants to double click. system accounts shouldn't be able to access or use the script, IMO.

comment udev rules to allow only one vendor and model USB drive but no others
@solsTiCe That's a good point. We could do either, but the longer term problem is new systems that are in the category will have more than one functional USB, at which point I need it scripted to handle any USB bus/port combo. For the current implementation the dirty solution works, but it's mostly a proof of concept first before actually whittling away at it to fix it.

comment How to access my Android's files using Wi-Fi in Ubuntu?
@Tim but that's not what I see being asked here. "Both my Ubuntu and Android use the same wifi." OK, they're on the same network. "How can I transfer files between the phone and the pc?" Implied over the wifi. Solution: Install something on the android that gives ftp/sftp access, but that's an Android question, not Ubuntu. Regardless of how it's interpreted, the solution is an Android-side setup of some software to provide the function, and that's not Ubuntu.

What exactly is your real question? You give us a ton of terminal output but no question

comment How to access my Android's files using Wi-Fi in Ubuntu?
This isn't necessarily an Ubuntu question, more a case of "How do I set up my Android device to have a server to handle file transfers to devices on my wifi".

comment How to fix my local ip address
@LolaLoulita That won't work on Wireless if you have multiple wifi networks you use. To do that you have to tell the system to NOT let NetworkManager handle the network connection, and have the standard /etc/network/interfaces file determine addressing as well as using command line tools to manage the wireless connection. Static IP and Wifi also do not go well together.

Where do you determine the CPU usage statistic from? How are you monitoring it to get that statistic?

comment udev rules to allow only one vendor and model USB drive but no others
@Seth no change with that, and it looks like udev is processing all the rules... adding a "RUN" command to the end that outputs to syslog means all those commands that say "Good" or "Bad" device run... :/

BTW, I failed to transcribe a rule here (the second rule had the wrong equality symbol as a result of transcribing while being tired and having my head on a swivel to type between two different computers and screens)

@Pilot6 that probably won't fix both and might prevent any from working. provide an alternative to just removing things.
