@AlexandreTeles this is relevant because of PPAs. PPAs are unique to Ubuntu right now.

What do you mean "C#"? You can load an ISO into VBox without burning a disk, unless your system is weird.

(note the gdb in the repositories is NOT 7.8. You may want to add the clarification for that in your answer here)

Actually gdb is available in the repositories. What makes you say it is not?

comment Ubuntu server different kind of services
You can run more than one thing on one OS, you just have to configure Apache correctly, and then do all the network routing from external -> your computer -> VBox NAT configured with port forwarding.

@OmarRefaie you don't 'solve' it. A guest OS never sees the hardware interfaces (see my diagram). If you want Linux to see the physical hardware of your computer you need to do what you did and create a LiveUSB and boot to it.

@Ivan there's no 'picture' or 'video' guide to compiling from source. I can maybe backport Debian Unstable's 0.98.4+dfsg-2 package for Ubuntu, if you want... but as karl said, there's a possible security risk, there. I always just copy Debian and leave it the same, and add a build entry for the Ubuntu release, but...
