If no password was entered but it was required you will be declined access, completely.

This isn't a question. AskUbuntu and other Stack Exchange websites are not for you to complain at but to learn and spread knowledge. Your gaming issue on the other hand probably is due to you not installing the proper drivers, which can be found if you search for "drivers" in Unity.

I have the same "issue". As far as I'm concerned we click nowadays. I'm not certain, but I think your problem is very difficult to solve.

If you boot into the live DVD again and open gParted what can you see. What partitions are there?

comment How to recover a lost text file?
It's almost impossible to recover a file once it's been permanently deleted. Although, if you have a "backup file" you can probably recover the file. What was the content of the recovery file and the exact name of the recovery file? Was the file created by Linux or Windows?

If you don't specify that you will use a password using -p, it will assume that you don't want to enter a password. If you don't specify the host you will connect to a local mysql server, user@localhost by default. All above was true on my system at least, it may be different on yours, but it's always good practice to specify everything when making connections to avoid any errors.

comment Wireless - problem
You should specify what version of Ubuntu you're using and previously used. Ubuntu use version numbers based on release dates; Ubuntu 12.04 was released in April 2012. You should edit the post to include the proper version of Ubuntu to make it useful as a future reference.
