There will be a file named uninstall.sh in /usr/local/netbeans-x.x if you installed netbeans with root privilege. If you installed it with a normal user account the netbeans-X.X folder will be in your home directory. (Here x.x refers to the version number such as 6.9 or 7.2 etc) Open a terminal and go to netbeans' installation directory using cd command. ...

Since as the error message says CIFS URLs (starting with smb://) are not supported, you have to use the "classic" syntax to identify the server and share. Furthermore, you cannot mount a folder within a share as though it is a share--you should mount the share and then access the folder within it. You can make a symbolic link to the folder inside the share, ...

As has been stated in the comments, this is a problem with Java Swing apps on Linux. Swing does use Gnome's font smoothing settings (deactivated, greyscale or subpixel) - it disregards the hinting settings though. It always uses full hinting, and if you're running Ubuntu with little or no font hinting (as most people do since little hinting is the default ...

Look & Feel: GTK+ and Java Swing Applications do not play well at all together when it comes to look and feel. I am afraid we'd have to wait for Java 8 for a proper fix. For the time being, if you're not using Kubuntu but Ubuntu and Unity, you have to switch to the native look and feel which is Metal. Go to your netbeans directory (ex: ...

I have the same problem with copying from Netbeans to terminal. It seems that when you Ctrl+C in Netbeans, it isn't copied in pure text format, so you can't paste it in terminal which require that kind of format (this is an assumption based on my experience ;) ). So, how do I do it? Just copy from Netbeans, then paste it in some text editior, on example ...

In short, you need to package your application in the Debian packaging format. If you know how to package, simply upload a tarball or a zip file with the source package. If you don't know how to package, you've got two options: If your application is a commercial app, you can upload the .jar files and Canonical will package it for you If your application ...

Just posted the same question here ... the solution for me was to downgrade OpenJDK from 6b27 to 6b24 (look at the link for details). You should be able to improve the font rendering, but it will never be like the one in Gedit. Usually all java applications using Swing have that weird rendering. If you use Eclipse, for example, the font rendering should be correct. Font rendering can be changed in /etc/netbeans.conf: sudo gedit /etc/netbeans.conf and at the end of ...

Ctrl+V is not a bound combination in terminals. The terminal application ignores the keyboard event and passes it onto whatever's running. This is desirable because you don't really want the terminal window interfering with your keyboard events. Right-click and click paste. Or use Primary Selection (highlight some text and middle-click). Edit: I've just ...

Oli and user1974 suggested using Primary Selection (an X-Windows feature), but I needed these details to do so: 1.) Highlight text in NetBeans (don't worry about copying it) 2.) Middle-click in GNOME Terminal to paste it there No other suggestions worked for me, but this worked like a charm. There is a bug entered at netbeans.org for this.
