When Compiz' EXPO plugin crashes (or causes .. to crash), can one tty-kill the EXPO plugin *only* (rather than taking down Unity/Compiz altogether)?

It seems to me that the EXPO plugin does, unfortunately (?), not constitute a separate process (?) which could be ended/killed if needed. Is this correct? And, if so, is there still a way to ...
