Trouble authenticating and with groups. Phantom duplicate user account?
I'm sometimes having trouble authenticating and it seems I'm no longer a member of the 'admin' group. Or I am.... but I have two user accounts with the same name and only one of them is... or ...

Why is there a new Group for me as a User?
Why is it that when I install Ubuntu with a user name, a new group is created with that name too?
Is there a reason we're not just plain Administrators?
