When I click on Ubuntu after the dual boot screen I get just a purple screen and nothing happens.

More hardware info is needed. – ObsessiveSSOℲ Aug 19 '12 at 20:33
Is there an Ubuntu logo on the purple screen? Or is it a blank, purple screen? If there is an Ubuntu logo, what happens when you press Escape or F2? Do you see any text? What does it say? If it's blank, does anything happens when you press Ctrl+Alt+F1? – Eliah Kagan Aug 26 '12 at 19:30

Well, that purple screen appears when I start my Ubuntu computer... when it is loading.

Probably if you wait some time Ubuntu will start up normally. If not, probably something got wrong with your installation. Then you will have to reinstall Ubuntu...

Presumably the OP has waited a while before posting a question. Furthermore, if there is something wrong, it can usually be fixed without reinstalling Ubuntu. And often reinstalling will not fix a problem, if the problem is that the installer did not properly configure the system for the computer's hardware. – Eliah Kagan Aug 26 '12 at 19:30
