I have installed the Cinnamon without problems from the PPA.

When I want to test it, the desktop shows no panel after login!

I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with gnome 3.2.

It seems as if some gnome extensions did not work together with cinnamon. Do you have any experience in that?

I am running Cinnamon without any problem. I'd suggest removing the cinnamon desktop completely and then installing it back.
