Where do you see any reference to version 3.0? – psusi Jan 24 '12 at 1:49
He's probably referring to btrfs being included in Linux 3.0. – Jo-Erlend Schinstad Jan 24 '12 at 6:03
changelog on btrfs wiki 0.19 is listed as the version that was released June 2009, after that they started using kernel versions. – dmuir Jan 24 '12 at 11:57
The answer is no, the filesystem itself does not need to be upgraded. – dmuir Dec 13 '13 at 1:47
