Ubuntu 11.10 hangs on reboot with message 'unattended-upgrades in progress, sleeping for 5s', but the wait is endless & you never reach the desktop. Kindly suggest a remedy.

The results of unattended-upgrades will be logged to /var/log/unattended-upgrades (help.ubuntu.com/11.10/serverguide/C/automatic-updates.html) Please have a look in that log file and add any relevant info to the question. –  Rinzwind Jan 23 '12 at 10:09
