Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Environment
I am using git with its gui applications gitk and gitgui which are based on the simple windowing shell named wish. Also I enabled Visual Effects in the Appearance Preferences of Ubuntu. I set the mode to Extra.
I am running Ubuntu (Maverick) 10.10 and using git 1.7.8.3.

Problem
When I changed windows with ALT + TAB the Visual Effects seem to crash. That can be seen since the mode is set to None afterwards.

Questions
Do you know how I can fix this or where I can find debug information?
