Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Since upgrading to 11.10 (only a couple of weeks back) I find that Chrome logs me out of Google and some other sites every time it shuts down. Is this a bug or is there a new setting that affects this?

It seems your cookies are not properly saved: Have a look at Settings -> Details -> Privacy -> Content settings and check whether Cookies are enabled and whether they will be deleted on shutdown (last checkbox).

I don't have the correct english labels right here as I am using a German Chrome.

Thanks. Cookies are enabled, but that setting (Clear cookies and other site and plug-in data when I close my browser) is off. I haven't changed any settings since I upgraded, that I'm aware of. – steevc Jan 14 '12 at 22:32
Maybe the ~/.config/google-chrome-folder is not writable? – TimWolla Jan 14 '12 at 22:34
It is writable and I can see updates from just now. Some data is obviously being saved – steevc Jan 14 '12 at 22:39
You don't seem to be the first one with this problem: google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/… The only idea I have would be purging google chrome, reinstall it and import bookmarks. – TimWolla Jan 14 '12 at 22:43
