I got a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre (the Studios) as a gift. With how expensive they are (and how good), I decided not to put them into my ubuntu laptop, because I wasn't sure if they would work or not. Then one day out of curiosity, I plugged them in and tried to listen to music. Then The sound broke. The sound became all messed up, even when I unplugged them and put them in my iPod. Then my little brother plugged them into his iPod and they magically worked. So my question is, if I plug them into my laptop again, will they work? And if they don't, why won't they?

That's just not right... Headphones shouldn't have caused anything to crash in the system which is what most likely happened, is your Headphone jack working properly? – Uri Herrera Jan 13 '12 at 22:54
Its a hardware or driver issue with your laptop – Ringtail Apr 8 '12 at 16:41
