Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

For example if I try to install software from the Software Centre, or change Update Manager settings, instead of asking for my password, it asks for that of another admin account!

I have to resort to the command line to do anything.

This has only been happening since I recently did an upgrade from 10.10->11.04->11.10.

Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can fix it?
