Performance being really choppy with ATI drivers

If you experience the performance degradation only with Unity 3D enabled in 11.10 then you might want to try the following PPA: https://launchpad.net/~glasen/+archive/unity-performance-fix

The applied fix for unity is still pending approval: https://code.launchpad.net/~vanvugt/unity/fix-861061-trunk
