Can you boot it in rescue mode? (Hold down shift for the menu). If not, what does it show on the screen when it hangs, in rescue mode? –  tumbleweed Jan 6 '12 at 8:57
It seems that my video card is dying. It works well with ubuntu drivers but when I installed drivers from nvidia PC hangs. –  Anton Jan 6 '12 at 10:10
Generally, you should install nvidia drivers through the software center, rather than downloading them from nvidia.com –  tumbleweed Jan 6 '12 at 10:21
I installed nvidia drivers from System Settings -> Additional Drivers. There are 2 options "current" and "current updates". I have chosen "current". –  Anton Jan 6 '12 at 10:30
